The Zebra Green Tomato was developed in the United States by renowned tomato breeder Tom Wagner in the 1980s. It is one of the earliest striped tomato varieties and has become a favorite among heirloom enthusiasts. Transplant seedlings outdoors once the danger of frost has passed, spacing plants 45–60 cm (18–24 inches) apart in rows 90 cm (36 inches) apart.

Soil: Prefers fertile, well-draining soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0–7.0). Enrich the soil with compost or organic matter to support vigorous growth and consistent fruiting.

Watering: Water regularly to keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Avoid overhead watering to reduce the risk of fungal diseases.

Care: Plant in full sun for optimal fruit production. Support the plants with stakes, cages, or trellises to accommodate their indeterminate growth habit. Fertilize every 3–4 weeks with a balanced or tomato-specific fertilizer.

Harvesting: Tomatoes are ready for harvest approximately 70–80 days after transplanting. Pick fruits when they are firm, bright green with darker green stripes, and slightly soft to the touch. Regular harvesting promotes continued fruiting.
